Main Criteria
Since the ground breaking research that became the book “In Search of Excellence” by Tom Peters, it has become clear that organisations can only grow and develop through direct leadership. This leadership can come from an entrepreneur, a manager, and a business owner or team leader. It’s through this leadership that your Boss will lift your organisation, your results and you to greater achievement.
This category is open to all Bosses who have at least four staff working for them. The Boss can be the business owner, a manager in an organisation or a team leader. It will be the staff that works for this Boss that nominates them.
Assessment Criteria
Award entries will be judged on the extent to which they can demonstrate the following:
• How the Boss understands the difference between leadership and management and through this understanding
builds results in their field and business.
• The Boss will be responsible for specific results either in production, sales, administration or profitability.
Measurement will be against specific defined goals and targets.
• How the Boss uses incentives for growth of both results and staff.
• How the Boss develops a working environment that creates a culture of customer service and profitable results.
• How the Boss maintains direction within the organisation.
• How the Boss deals with problems with staff, customers and products that affect all businesses.
