The Blue Orchid is located in Aspley Guise, a small picturesque country village in Bedfordshire, near Milton Keynes.

Within the village square, the building is an attractive traditional Grade II listed brick built property built 1837, and lies within a conservation area.

The property is divided into areas with distinct characteristics to provide luxurious and intimate areas, as well as more open areas for larger functions

The Bansuey, meaning Beautiful House, is a luxurious and welcoming Lounge with bar, water features and generous seating area.

All rooms have been dressed with traditional Thai furnishings, exotic foliage, and have retained some of the properties original period features such as high ceilings and covings. The restaurant also has a large garden which has been enhanced with palms.

The Bricklayers Arms is now an "award winning" Restaurant, Free House, formerly Ind Coope, Benskins, Owned in 1838 by the Hon. William George Cavendish.

Listed as an 18th-century building, built in 1722, it has been open as a pub for nearly 200 years, with its low ceilings, exposed beams and a real log fire. a warm welcome awaits. During the summer you can enjoy dining "al fresco" on the patio or in the garden.

Under the new ownership of Alvin and Sally Michaels, The Bricklayers Arms was refurbished in early 2004. They have continued to keep the original ambience of this quaint Country free house pub offering a variety of fine real ales, a wine list with over 80 wines and quality foods sourced from local producers. All dishes are freshly prepared and home made where you can enjoy a one course lunch to a full a la carte menu prepared by Executive Head Chef, Claude Paillet and his team of Chef's.

In March 2007 at a Europes largest Award event of its kind attended by nearly 2000 guests at The Grosvenor House, Mayfair, The Bricklayers Arms received the finalist award at the Publican Awards Ceremony sponsered by Christie & Co for "Freehouse of the Year 2007"

The Bricklayers Arms were awarded the top prize of the evening at the "The Publican Food Awards" on 8th November 2006 at The Savoy Hotel, London for "Pub Food Champion of the Year 2006"

where Claude Paillet and Alvin & Sally Michaels received this outstanding acolade. We were also delighted to be finalists for the "Food Innovation Pub of the Year 2006".
